Chicken & Pork Adobo

Chicken & Pork adobo is a version of well beloved Filipino adobo using the combination of chicken and pork. Adobo is considered as the signature dish of the Philippines.


Chicken & Pork Adobo

This dish is best prepared for either lunch or dinner.


Ingredients:

  1. 1 lbs pork belly chopped into cubes

  2. 1 lbs chicken cut into serving pieces

  3. 3 pieces dried bay leaves

  4. 1 teaspoons whole peppercorn

  5. 1/2 head garlic slightly crushed

  6. 1 whole onion chopped

  7. 1/4 cup vinegar

  8. 1/4 cup soy sauce

  9. 2 tablespoon oyster sauce

  10. 1 teaspoons brown sugar

  11. 2 cups water

  12. 3 tablespoons cooking oil

Instructions:

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Sauté onion and garlic until golden brown. Remove the garlic and onion and set aside.

  2. Cook pork and chickenfor 5 minutes or until the color turns light brown.

  3. Add whole bay leaves, peppercorn, oyster sauce, soy sauce, vinegar and water. Let boil and simmer until the meat gets tender.

  4. Add the sugar and stir. Put-in the fried garlic and onion, stir, and cook for 2 minutes.

  5. Serve!
